Athletic Specification & Controls

How to Play Valleyball Versus

Two athletes, one continuous arena, and zero whistles. Master the physics of sloped momentum, execute precision aerial strikes, and outmaneuver your opponent in pure local competition.

Primary Controller Layout

Dual Gamepad Setup (Recommended)

Plug in two Xbox, PlayStation, or generic USB/Bluetooth controllers. Each athlete enjoys full analog movement, sprint momentum, and precise aerial trajectory control.

Physics Laws & Court Positioning

Mastering the Inclined Playing Field

Valleyball is not an arcade game with magnetic auto-targeting. Your momentum, launch angle, and aerial timing determine whether you score or get caught out on the counter.

01 // Kicking & Upward Volleys

Launch the ball skyward into active play. Connecting on a low-line kick or upward volley pops the ball deep into the arena's vertical airspace. This resets rally tempo, buys time to reposition, and lofts the ball high above defending opponents.

02 // Sliding & Downhill Momentum

Turn the arena's gravity into speed. Initiating a ground slide while aimed downhill accelerates your athlete rapidly along the sloped banks. Use downhill slides to chase down runaway loose balls, beat opponents to the basin, and convert gravity into strike momentum.

03 // Sprinting Against Incline

Fight gravity up the terrain. Climbing out of the central basin toward the elevated target goal requires sustained sprint drive. Fighting uphill constantly bleeds kinetic energy—time your sprint bursts along the banked approach corridors to preserve speed.

04 // The Apex Spike Rule

Spike higher = steeper angle. Striking a spike while grounded produces a flat horizontal vector. Jumping to the exact apex of your leap and striking downwards delivers a sharp, crushing spike with maximum velocity directly into the target hoop.

05 // The Committed Lunge

High risk, vital reach. A diving lunge is an unscripted physical commitment. Once triggered, momentum carries your athlete skidding across the turf. Essential for last-second basin saves, but mistiming leaves your goal wide open during recovery.

06 // Score & Invert Instantly

The whistle never blows. The millisecond the ball drops through the ring, target goals invert in real time. The hoop you just scored in is instantly yours to defend. Never pause to celebrate—pivot immediately into defensive positioning.
